Who can register?

- Carers or supporters of someone with dementia
- Anyone aged 18 or over interested in contributing to research

Dementia Research – Get Involved and Make a Difference
Over 900,000 people are currently living with dementia in the UK. Taking part in research can offer a positive focus and help improve diagnosis, treatment, and care for others now and in the future.
Why take part?
- Research participation is encouraged at any stage of dementia, as recommended by NICE guidelines.
- Join Dementia Research is a UK-wide service that connects volunteers with studies funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
- Anyone aged 18 or over can sign up.
What might a study involve? Participants may be asked to take part in activities such as:
- Brain scans
- Diagnostic tests
- Drug trials
- Focus groups or interviews (online, in person, or by phone)
- Lifestyle programmes
- Questionnaires
- Talking therapies
- Testing new technologies and devices

- Music therapy in dementia care
- AI in diagnosis

MyMelanoma Research Study – Join the World’s Largest Melanoma Study
MyMelanoma is a global research initiative bringing together people affected by melanoma, clinicians, and researchers to answer the most important unanswered questions in melanoma research.
Who can take part? Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with:
- Melanoma of the skin
- Melanoma of the mucosal surfaces (e.g. nose, genitals)
- Melanoma under the nails
Why join? Your participation will help advance understanding and treatment of melanoma, contributing to one of the largest studies of its kind in the world.

Recover Arm Strength After Stroke – Join the TRICEPS Research Trial
Had a stroke 6 months to 10 years ago? Still experiencing arm weakness? You may be eligible for our TRICEPS study exploring Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (TVNS) to improve arm recovery.
What’s involved?
- Attend local research centre appointments
- Randomly assigned to TVNS or placebo
- Wear a small earpiece during rehab exercises at home
- 1 hour/day, 5 times a week for 3 months
- Follow-up assessments included
Eligibility:
- Age 18+
- No pacemaker/cochlear implant
- Not in another stroke rehab study
- Not pregnant
Why join?
Research shows stimulating the vagus nerve while moving the weak arm may help recovery. Your participation could make a difference for future stroke care.
