If you move to a new GP practice anywhere in the UK (including England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland), you do not need to contact us to de-register. When you register with your new GP, the NHS system automatically notifies us, and we will remove you from our patient list. Your full medical history is then securely transferred to your new practice through the NHS electronic system. This ensures continuity of care wherever you are in the UK.

Moving Abroad

If you are leaving the UK, it’s important to let us know. Unlike moving within the UK, there is no automatic notification system when you move overseas. If we are not informed, this creates what the NHS calls “ghost patients”—people who are still listed at a GP practice but no longer live in the area or country. Ghost patients can affect NHS funding and resource planning, and may lead to unnecessary correspondence being sent to you.

Please complete our “Moved Abroad” form to tell us you have left the UK. This helps us:

  • Update your registration and remove you from our patient list.
  • Arrange for your medical records to be securely stored by the NHS in case you return to the UK.

You can request a copy of your records for your new doctor abroad.
