AccuRx is for non-urgent clinical or administrative queries only. Please do not use it in an emergency—call 999 immediately, or 111 for medical advice. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

At Birchwood Medical Practice, we use AccuRx, a secure online messaging service, to help patients contact us for non-urgent clinical or administrative queries. This convenient tool allows you to get in touch without needing to call or visit the practice in person. You can use AccuRx to request test results, ask about prescriptions, follow up on previous appointments, and even send photos if needed to support your query.

We also frequently send out Florey questionnaires through AccuRx. These are designed to help us gather the most accurate and up-to-date information about our patients without requiring them to come into the practice to complete forms. These questionnaires may ask about your sharing preferences, whether you are a carer, have a history in the armed forces, or may be used to collect information ahead of a review appointment.

Please note that AccuRx is not suitable for emergencies. If you need urgent medical help, call 999 immediately or 111 for medical advice. We aim to respond to all AccuRx messages within 48 hours.

Using AccuRx is quick and easy. Once accessed online—whether on a mobile phone, tablet, or computer—patients can either browse self-help resources or complete a short questionnaire to send a message directly to the surgery. This message can include non-urgent medical or administrative queries. The team at Birchwood Medical Practice will review each submission and respond appropriately, either by providing advice, outlining next steps, or asking the patient to contact the surgery directly (e.g., to speak with a doctor).

To use AccuRx, patients must provide a valid email address and contact telephone number.

We often contact patients via text message for quick and easy communication. These messages may include appointment reminders, health questionnaires, or updates from the practice.

Important:

  • While we do charge for certain services and non-NHS workwe will never ask for your bank details via text, email, or phone.
  • Be cautious of any message requesting personal or financial information.

If you ever receive a message claiming to be from us and you are unsure of its legitimacy, please call the practice directly to confirm. We are always happy to verify any communication.
