Enhanced Access Appointments - Apex PCN
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) offer Enhanced Access appointments to provide patients with additional routine care outside of normal practice hours. These appointments are available:
- Monday to Friday: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
As Enhanced Access is delivered at a PCN level, individual practices may not be physically open during these extended hours.
Appointments Available for APEX PCN Patients
As part of APEX PCN, patients registered at any of the practices listed below can access routine, pre-booked evening and weekend appointments:
- Birchwood Medical Practice
- Boultham Park Medical Practice
- Richmond Medical Centre
- The Woodland Medical Practice
These appointments are provided on a rota basis by our member practices on behalf of the PCN.
What Type of Appointments Are Offered?
Enhanced Access appointments are pre-bookable, non-urgent consultations, suitable for routine care such as:
- Chronic illness reviews
- Asthma checks
- Blood pressure checks
- Appointments with GPs, Nurses, or Healthcare Assistants
Please note: This is not a walk-in service. Appointments must be booked in advance.
Important Information
- Your registered practice may not be open during Enhanced Access hours, so general queries cannot be answered at that time.
- Appointments may be delivered as a telephone call, video consultation, or face-to-face visit. You will be informed of the format when booking.
- When booking, you will be asked to consent to a clinician from another APEX PCN practice accessing and updating your health record.
