ConfidentialityPatient Check-In
We have an automatic patient check-in. This is a touch-screen which asks a couple of simple questions to identify you. Simple to use, quick and confidential. Your personal details will not be displayed on the screen. This system has reduced the queue's at the desk and has helped provide more efficiency.
Patient Call SystemWith the installation of our computer system we have been able to improve the way we call patients in to see the doctors and nurses. Now, when the clinician presses the call button the patient’s name goes up on the electronic board in reception and the patient can go straight in to see the person they are waiting to see. The receptionists no longer shout out the patients name in the waiting room. Privacy in the Waiting RoomTo enable your conversation at the reception desk some privacy, we have installed a queue system to keep a space between you and other waiting patients. Our new reception desk has an area for confidentiality, but should you wish for further privacy, please ask the receptionist to take you to a more secluded area or a separate room. Your Medical Records'Your Records Are Safe With Us' is a leaflet available on this website and in the waiting room which explains:
ChaperonesDuring your appointment with a doctor or nurse, you are welcome to ask for a chaperone. This will usually be one of the nursing team, however if a nurse is unavailable another staff member will chaperone with your agreement. If you would like to discuss any of these issues or would like to let us know your comments on how we deal with privacy and confidentiality you can write to us or email us Click here On-line Appointment Booking & Prescription orderingPatients must be over 16. The receptionist will allow access by giving the patient a form with information to complete the registration on-line, this includes a Pin Number, ID for access and the Practice code. Only appointments allocated for booking will be seen - no other information can be seen and definitely no information which relates to any other patient.
